Tulsa, Okla. – Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, dominated the Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Cup Championship on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Ark., August 9-11. Bryan Thrift won his first Championship on Sunday, one of eight of the top 10 anglers who relied on Lowrance. Of the 52 competitors in the event, 37 used Lowrance fishfinders/chartplotters.
Thrift used his Lowrance HDS and StructureScan sonar to finish with a three-day total of 15 bass for 38 pounds, 7 ounces – winning by a 5-pound, 1-ounce margin. Sunday's final weigh-in marked the finale of the 2019 FLW Cup, which featured 52 of the best professional bass anglers from across North America. Leading the tournament on all three days of competition, Thrift took home the $300,000 top prize. With career earnings of more than $3 million dollars, Thrift is now the second all-time leading money winner in FLW history.
